From a Weaving Village to the World Stage – Receiving India’s First Oscars Book of Records Award

Dreams stitched with passion can reach any height — and my journey is living proof of that.

I am humbled and honored to have received India’s first Oscars Book of Records Award at the 2nd International Aari Workers Conference. This is not just a personal milestone, but a historic moment for every artisan who believes in the power of their craft.

Growing up in a weaving village, I never imagined that my work would one day be recognized on such a prestigious platform. This honor reaffirms my belief that dedication, perseverance, and love for art can open doors to the world stage.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Aravind Lakshminarayanan Sir, National President of the Indian Aari Workers Federation, for his unwavering support and visionary leadership. His encouragement has been instrumental in making this achievement possible.

This award is not mine alone. It belongs to:

  • Every Aari artist who works tirelessly to preserve our traditional embroidery.
  • Every woman in a village who dares to dream beyond boundaries.
  • Everyone who believes that art can change lives and uplift communities.

The Oscars Book of Records Award is a reminder that our heritage is not only alive — it is thriving and gaining global recognition. Together, we will continue to create, inspire, and take Indian Aari work to even greater heights.
